PhD students enroll through the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI) via the National Institute of Informatics (NII). Q: Can I do a research internship at the HAA Lab?

Yes. International students can join through the NII International Internship Program (MOU) if their university has an agreement with NII, or by contacting Dr. Chung-Chi Chen directly with a CV. Interns focus on meaningful research questions, aim to uncover findings that matter, and share insights at top venues during their stay.

Q: Do I need to speak Japanese to join the HAA Lab?

No. The lab's working language is English, and members come from more than ten countries. Japanese is not required for research or daily lab activities.
